The new premium Shellback Rum launched with a splash at a six-city series of interactive mixology “All Hands on Deck” experiences.  At one of these nights to remember, mixology expert Tony Abou-Ganim guided guests on the proper techniques for spirit tasting, muddling, shaking and serving while crafting sophisticated cocktails made with Shellback Rum. These delicious Shellback cocktails will make anyone a fan.

TASTING NOTES:

SHELLBACK SPICED

Shellback Spiced Rum is a medium-bodied rum that features no added sugar and a medley of all natural spices resulting in a smooth, clean taste with notes of caramelized honey, dark roast and brown spice.

SHELLBACK SILVER

Shellback Silver Rum is a clean and flavorful rum for the sophisticated palate.  Its floral overtones are layered with the suggestion of vanilla and tropical fruit to give a sweet, smooth taste that never over asserts itself.

 

SHELLBACK CARIBBEAN RUM COCKTAIL RECIPES

MILESTONE MOJITO COCKTAIL

INGREDIENTS:

1 ½ oz Shellback Spiced Rum

1 oz House Made Ginger Syrup

1 oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice

12-14 Fresh Mint Leaves

10-12 Slices of Kumquats (Substitution: 4 slices of Mandarin, Clementine or Nectarine)

Chilled Fever-Tree Soda Water

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a highball glass, lightly muddle Lime Juice, Ginger Syrup, Kumquats and Mint Leaves.  Add crushed ice and Shellback Spiced Rum.  Stir until outside of glass begins to frost.  Top with chilled Soda Water. Garnish with Mint Sprig.

FIRST MATE COCKTAIL

INGREDIENTS:

1 ½ oz Shellback Spiced Rum

1 oz Cinnamon Simple Syrup

2 oz Unfiltered Apple Juice (Regular Apple Juice wors as well)

1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

Chilled Fever Tree Ginger Beer

Lemon Spirals and Apple Slices for Garnish

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a shaker add Shellback Spiced Rum, Cinnamon Syrup, Unfiltered Apple Juice and Fresh Lemon Juice. Shake with Ice until well blended.  Strain into an Ice filled Collins Glass. Top with chilled Ginger Beer. Stir to mix and garnish with Lemon Spirals and Apple Slices.

DECK HAND DAIQUIRI COCKTAIL

INGREDIENTS:

2 oz Shellback Silver Rum

1 oz Hand Extracted Lime Juice

1 oz Simple Syrup

Fresh, Seasonal Fruits and Berries

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a shaker muddle fresh Fruits with the Simple Syrup.  Add fresh Lime Juice and Shellback Silver Rum: Shake with ice until well blended. Double strain into a chilled cocktail coup. Garnish with a thin slice of Lime and Fruit of your choice.
